Lucidity 1
The other day-or night, I had a brief lucid dream. Or a dream where I was aware that I was asleep while within a dream. I have had a handful of these dream before and am always amazed by how they workout. I was able to do this much easier as a kid in elementary(primary) school and since then have recently gained the ability do do that again these past few years.
Since I couldn't remember my dream last night (the 10th of August) I thought I would briefly talk about my lucid dream this past week. I say 'briefly' because it only lasted a few moments :-/
I was inside a dream where I was interacting with some people. This was a "light sleep" and most everything was foggy and not to vivid. I suddenly noticed things were strange when I thought about being asleep, then it hit me, I knew I was dreaming.
I became exited first and things became more foggy. I have learned that excitement can lead to waking up so I took a deep breath and calmed down. I felt like "Am I really asleep?? This feels real..." but after a bit of thinking I firmly decided I was asleep. I remembered where I thought my body was and couldn't remember where I was. Yup, I was inside a dream.
The next thing I tried to do was look around. Things were really foggy and out of focus. I didn't have much control of my body either. I realized I was sleeping lightly and might not be able to control my dream consciously. So I tried to calm down and get into a deeper sleep by relaxing my body, thinking calmly, and almost humming softly. After a few moments I accepted that I wasn't falling asleep any deeper and I probably wouldn't have control of my dream.
So I decided to let myself go back into the dream world and believe I was in a dream and it was real. I wasn't hard on myself and understood things. I was happy I had been so careful about things.
Later after being awake for about ten minutes I remembered my other dreams from that night and recalled that I had became lucid.
Thanks for checking this out!
-Taylor.
